That seems pretty expensive when you can get calling cards that charge a fraction of that. I can call my fiancee in Thailand for 2 cents a minute on the calling card I use.

And those cards has a connection fee, and also maintance fee, depending. I have tryed this way, they are rip offs.

Interesting. My connection fee is exactly $0.00 I found rates to call the Phillippines (cellular) and the best is 10 cents a minute with NO connection fee. To call the Phillippines (land line) the best rate is 8.9 cents a minute and again NO connection fee.

I've been using these calling cards to call my fiancee in Thailand for close to a year and there are no hidden fees. But if someone is willing to shell out 15 to 17 cents to call, then I guess that is up to them.

They charge 0.21/min to Germany. That's expensive.

I use a 10-10 dial-around and pay 2.9 cents that way.

Ethiopia is 1.29. Again, dial-around gets that down to less than $.50.

Phone cards are even cheaper - in the $.20 - $.25 range.

I have found the cheapest way....whenever I call my fiance, He says "hello" and I say "Will you call me back?" Actually I don't even have to ask anymore....I say Hello...he says, I'll call you right back. Isn't he the best?

Ok...actually we do this because for some reason it costs me a LOT more to call him and he can call me from Australia dirt cheap!
