Checking for False Claim to US Citizenship

I am currently on B2 married to an American citizen. Before I submit my AOS, I am doing my due diligence by researching to make sure that I did not actually do something stupid like claiming US citizenship when I was younger. I did not file any I-9 but I am questioning my driver’s license (DL) renewal.

Brief background: I came to the US with legal L1 status about 10 years ago where I received a valid SSN and a Michigan driver’s license. During renewal 3 years later when I was NO LONGER IN STATUS (quit my old job and returned home….I know it was stupid to renew my DL but that’s not the point of this post) I am not 100% sure but my gut is telling me that I may have made a mistake and claimed US citizenship to avoid showing paperwork during renewal. This is not proven so I did my research with Michigan Secretary of State (SOS):

1. I ordered an “application history” and nowhere in that document say anything about US citizenship. I called the SOS call center 3 different times and got 3 different people and they all told me they don’t put US Citizenship status in the DL unless I haven an enhanced driver’s licence which I did not have. I have a standard MI DL. They told me my record from their end does not say anything about citizenship. They said “status unknown”.

2. I was transferred to a supervisor from my 3rd call above when I explained my situation. The supervisor confirmed that there is nothing on my record showing US Citizenship. He recommended that I order “microfilm documents” of what I had filled out during renewal via fax. I ordered it and someone from MI SOS called me saying they would refund my money because they don’t keep that type of record.

Based on #1 and #2 above, how else can USCIS find out if someone claimed US Citizenship during driver’s license application records? If Michigan SOS (Secretary of State) does not have any record, how will USCIS find out?

Note: I did not fill out any I-9. What I was worried about was the DL renewal application. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like in MI they don't question or check the applicant's "legal presence" for renewal DL application since it was already checked during the initial application. Thus there shouldn't be an issue there.
