Hi everyone,

Our docs were accepted in October 2020. In February we still hadn’t gotten any news so I called NVC. They had me remove a doc that had been refused and put a note in our file requesting a review which was supposed to take 6 weeks.

I called again the 2nd week of April since we still hadn’t gotten any news and again this morning. Both times the agent said everything looked good on her end and there was nothing further for us to do. She said she didn’t know why our case hadn’t been sent to the embassy and put a note in requesting review.

It has now been 7 months since our docs were accepted and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight to our waiting.

Has anyone else their case get stuck between NVC accepting the docs and getting an interview date? The agent said something about communication problems between the different systems but that seems odd...

Any advice?

You stated at first that your docs were accepted but you were waiting DQ status.  Waiting 7 months for a DQ does seem strange.

Later in the post you mentioned your docs had not yet been sent to the embassy and you did not have an interview date yet.

Waiting 7 months between DQ and an interview in the Covid era is not so unusual.  Also you used the phrase:  between NVC accepting the docs and getting an interview date

So I'm not completely certain if you are talking about a delay between sending your docs to NVC and getting DQ status or that you have had a long wait between getting DQ status and getting an interview.

To other readers this may be clear, but if not, then I suggest if you could clarify this there will be someone on here that can give you some better answers.

Also, what type of Visa are you applying for?  A K-1 and a CR-1 process a bit different.  Again, this info will help you get help here at VJ.

Hi Steve,

our docs show « accepted » on the CEAC platform but we never got any notice saying we were documentarily complete. NVC hasn’t been able to provide a definitive answer about why our application hasn’t moved in 7 months since we’ve provided all the necessary documents.

So I’m wondering what I can do at this point to move things forward or whether we have to just keep waiting.

That does seem irregular.  I don't know what to suggest except for contacting NVC and asking them what is going on, which it seems you have done and are doing.

Perhaps someone here with more experience can give you some further advice.  But in the absence of that it seems to me you are appropriate in pressing NVC for some answers/action.
