I had all my paperwork ready when I went to VN to get married. Paid extra to process and still had to go back a month later to get the Marriage certificate.

I think it was around 200.00 to have the VN Embassy process the papers with the Rush Service. You have to call them to get the fee.

He will have to come back to the US the get the paperwork.

Before he comes back you should fill out and sign the forms needed so there is no delay. (The Bio Sheet and Application for Marriage)

You also wil need passport style pictures.

He will have to go back to VN to get the Marriage certificate. Both the husband and wife need to be there to sign in the book of marriage before they give you the Certificate.

AUTHENTICATION OF DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICATION FOR MARRIAGE REGISTRATION IN VIETNAM

A non-Vietnamese citizen, seeking to get married to a Vietnamese national, may submit in person or by mail his/her file of required documents for marriage registration to the Embassy of Vietnam in Washington, DC, for the authentication/legalization of the papers before taking them to Vietnam for subsequent procedures.

Documents to be authenticated by the Embassy:

-Application for Marriage Registration in Vietnam

-Affidavit of Single Status

-Certificate of No-marriage Records issued by the State (or County) Vital Statistics Office

-Medical Certificate issued by an authorized psychiatrist

-Photocopy of the photo and signature pages of the Passport.

-Bio Info Sheet

Sorry if I forgot anything, its been almost two years since I did this paperwork.

Also, have your husband in the US fill out the power of attorney sheet so she can get the paperwork started in Vietnam. This will save you some time. That is what I had my wife do. She got all the forms filled out and the appointment dates setup. That way all I had to do was go back to Vietnam a few days before the appointement date to get married. I just came back from VN a couple weeks ago with our marriage certificate. I was only back in VN for 2 1/2 weeks and got it on time before coming back to the US.
