Anyone receive an interview since Jan 1st 2021 for Barbados embassy? We filed an expedite request for an interview, it's been under review since February 4th, 2021 no word still. We had a congressional inquiry and the embassy told the congressional office that we hadn't submitted our required documents but we have and they have been accepted by NVC.  Barbados is under a "national pause" but we have been assured the embassy is still open and "fully operating" for immigrant visas. Just feels like we are stalling out...

Hello there. Did you ever get your visa interview at Barbados? I am currently at NVC and still waiting to go in transit to Barbados. Not sure why its taking soo long or if Barbados is still on "National Pause".

We did get our interview in June 2021 and my husband officially arrived to the US July 4, 2021. We had to hire a lawyer, Josh Goldstein and he filed a mandamus lawsuit on our behalf and less than 24 hours after the lawsuit was submitted we had an interview in Barbados. I am tremendously thankful we did this for many reasons, one being I'm positive we'd still be sitting waiting. But also, after my husbands interview he was given the form with information on how to mail his passport in for his visa, they said congratulations etc etc and the next thing we knew on NVC website it said the visa was denied. After he had sent his passport in?? So we contacted Josh, he made some calls and told us the embassy was claiming my husband never showed up to his medical exam. Although he even showed his receipt from the medical exam to the embassy. Anyways, Josh was able to clear that all up in less than 24 hours and we had the visa in our hands the very next day. I do believe this embassy is not easy when they are ready. Lots of excuses, lots of things that don't make sense.

This process is so long, hard and expensive which is also why I'm glad we ended up hiring a lawyer.  The lawyer allowed for a payment plan so we were able to do it. But honestly, this embassy is a mess... good luck and let me know if there's anything else you need help with!
