Just out of curiosity .. if the immigration bill goes through and the 12 million people + are eligable for citizenship, will it effect us going through AOS etc in the future in regards to waiting time?? I'm not for it, I'm not against it, I was just wondering how it would effect legal immigrants?

USCIS currently does a poor job handling a million or so cases a year. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that dumping an additional 12MM+ cases on this agency won't exactly improve the situation. Remember, once the amnesty goes through, those 12 million are on the way to be legal immigrants, too. There's not going to be a separate agency to handle this.

Are you joking? Of course I'm thinking of my petition! I dont want to go into the rights and wrong coz I can see both sides, but I want to able to get on with my life ASAP and not get caught up in the waiting game to be able to work and travel freely, especially as I came here legally!

Yes, if the reform gets approved by congress it will dramatically affect the USCIS and NVC process, I saw on the news. The guy who was talking about it said it was going to be pretty frightening and that they're not at all ready for it (gee, no surprise there).

That's why I keep saying, anyone who can go for a CR1 instead of a K3, go for it. The amount of time you will have to wait for the AOS/EAD to get approved, not to mention money, is going to be outrageous.
