I applied for my mom's B2 visa extension in April 2020. We recently received a notice for her to complete biometrics but USCIS scheduled the appointment in the wrong location and following USCIS guidance we requested to reschedule the appointment. We are now considering applying for adjustment of status instead. My questions are:

How is the process to cancel the B2 visa extension request since we haven't completed the whole process yet?

If we apply for her green card does it automatically cancel the visa extension request?

I heard about the IR5 ban does that only applies for people applying outside the US? Are they still processing applications for adjustment of status for applicants that are already in the country?

How long it is taking to have that process approved currently?

Thank you!
