I came to the USA as a tourist from Canada (my I-94 says B2 for class of admission) with the full intent of a tourist. I ended up marrying and am applying for adjustment of status before my I-94 expires.

I am unsure of how to fill out a few questions on the I-485.

Number 23c. in part 1: would I continue to put Visitor or leave it blank?

Number 24 in part 1: I came as a tourist but am now married, so I am unsure of what my current immigration status is? i came as a tourist and am now applying for change of status. Would I put AOS applicant?

Is it okay that I don't have an 'alien registration number; or 'USCIS account number' at the time of filling out these forms?

Thank you,

"B-2 Visitor"

"B-2 Visitor" because your I-94 still hasn't expired. Otherwise, it would be "No Lawful Status" after I-94 expiration. Marriage alone doesn't result in status. After filing I-485, the pending I-485 doesn't give status but you'll be in a period of stay authorized by the Secretary of Homeland Security.

Yes, it's okay. Put "NONE".

Thank you so much!

Another question: I-131

I am very confused on how to fill this out.

What would be my purpose for filling out this form? (Part 2 #1): I believe it is D (advance parole document) but am unsure

Part 3 and 4:

- I have no planned date of travel but was told to fill this form out as part of our package by an immigration lawyer during a consultation meeting. Do I fill in information in Part 3 and 4 (or just write 'unknown' in part 4).

Part 7: Do I fill out this portion?

Yes, that is correct.

"TBD" for the dates and "As needed" for the purpose. The "TBD" might need to be written manually in the box. Or you could use certain PDF software that let's you input letters in that box.

Just answer the first question with "More than one trip."
