First of all, I really appreciated all the information Amanda posted about the Dublin Consulate at the following link!

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=Dublin

I have just a few questions if someone could help. I'm from Minnesota, USA and I'm trying to help my fiancé who's from Cork, Ireland to prepare for her medical examination and interview.

Here are my two question topics:

1. I saw that that the doctors she could contact were listed. When she goes to one of them, will they perform a medical examination that satisfies the need for the examination? Do they administer the vaccinations that she needs at that point? Is there any documentation or things she must do when she goes to the med exam, like paperwork she needs to make sure they fill out and give her a copy of?

2. I saw that it was listed that 2 passport photos for the med exam and 2 passport photos for the interview are required. Since one photo is required for the I-129f application itself, am I right in believing this means my fiancé needs 5 total passport photos? Or does she just need 3, one for the I-129f and 2 that she uses at the med exam as well as at the interview? Also, do all of those photos need to be identical, as in, the one we send in with the I-129f and the ones she uses at the med exam and the interview?

Thanks for any time you have in answering these questions. I appreciate it greatly.

Sincerely,

Seth

1. They will do an examination as required for the visa. If you dont already have certian vaccinations done, they can be done at the medical as well. Some may be postponed if your fiance is pregnant or may become pregnant soon. Paperwork is ussualy taken care of by the doctor. Its either delivered directly to the embassy/consulate or your fiancee will have to pick it up.

2. She will need 5, but as long as they meet US passport photo standards, they dont have to be the same.

Thanks very much for the quick response! And congratulations on your recent success with the interview! So I'll let me fiancé know that the one photo she sent me already for the I-129f application is fine, and she will need to get more photos for her med exam and interview. And from what you said, it sounds like she can get the vaccinations done by anyone at any time, but that any she is missing will most likely be performed by the doctor at her medical exam. Is that correct? Sorry, just making sure. Thanks so much!

Sorry for any confusion! We haven't actually been accepted yet. In fact... I'm just finishing putting together our I-129f application right now! I'm just trying to be fully prepared and reading ahead into things. Since I had thought about the questions, I wanted to ask them now, even if early, in case I would forget about them in the future.

The only list of doctors that I know of is at the following link, and there was just one for the Cork area on that list. I don't know much more about any of it. Sorry!

If you can get vaccinations done for free or cheap through national healthcare, or any health care plan, you can definetly do that. Just bring the records with the the medical appointment. Its likely that your fiancee already has at least some of the required vaccines and may just require a booster.

Thanks for the link, I'm going to check it out in a moment. I want to get the medical done as soon as possible and I am relieved to hear that there is a doctor locally that can do it.

Good luck with getting the forms done. We're still waiting to hear back at the moment (sent them from the post office in Oliver Plunket Street). Unfortunately, we forgot to include our statements of intent to marry, so we're a little worried about things going through. We're also hoping that they are going to take into account the fact that we have been living together for over two years, but who knows!

Just remember to keep copies of everything and I hope all goes well for the two of you.

I called the medical center listed for Cork today for a few more details. I couldn't find the location for the center on Google map so I thought it best to find out where they are located. The lady said that they are in Douglas, not too far from Mahon Point shopping center.

Thanks very much for the information! I hope your application goes through smoothly. I'm guessing that having lived together for the last 2 years should make it pretty easy for you two. My fiance and I have not been able to be together much for the past two years, but I think we'll have the evidence we need. She actually works in Douglas, so that's great to know about the location. She could go in before/after work. Thanks very much! Hope you don't have to wait too much longer to hear on your app.

No problem at all. I'm only glad to be of some help here :). If your fiance works in Douglas then she can definately get to the medical center pretty easily. We're actually living in Cork City, so we need to take the bus out to Douglas. I don't really know that area of Cork too well at all. We've only been out there a few times, once on a majorly long walk when we first got here (the hill up from town almost killed us) and a few times when we've been to Mahon Point.

Thanks for the good wishes on our application. I'm so terrified that things won't go through or something bad will happen. I hope that they take into account that we have been living together for two years, but who knows. We didn't really provide much "hard" evidence that we are living together. We sent in photos and we're hoping the fact that we both share the same address, and that it is listed on our form, will be sufficient. As I say, who knows. We're just keeping everything crossed for this to go through.

I'm sorry to hear that you've both not been able to spend much time together. That's really sad. My fiance and I were students before we came out here, so we really didn't have many ties as far as work was concerned to keep us apart. We've reached the point of just wanting to settle down somewhere now and are just really hoping that we can get this sorted to be able to do that. One thing I'm worried about is the fact we forgot to post our intent to marry statements with the forms. According to the person I spoke with yesterday, they should just ask for them to be sent out rather than denying us. Just keeping EVERYTHING crossed.

Hang in there and good luck with the petition. I really hope it all works out for you.
