Single status affidavit

The Embassy does not provide this service. It is available at the Dominican consulates and Embassies in the US, or if you are already in DR, I believe it is the JCE that does this.

Forgot to mention I am USA resident.i am trying to see if I can get single status affidavit plus police record from California here in Dominican republic.

Yes, you can get affidavit of single status there. Your fiance needs one as well, and they can be obtained at the same office, it doesn't matter if you are a foreigner. You will need your passport, and a copy of it, I believe a Dominican needs to show their cedula, and provide a copy of that as well. 

 

I don't know if you can obtain a background check for California without personally applying for it, but you will not need one for the wedding, if that is what you were told.   

 

I assume you are having a civil ceremony in DR?

Well the jce guy in this small town said 

Birth certificate

Passport

Single status affidavit

But my gfs friends dad who used to work for gov in Dr mentioned police record plus rest that I mentioned.
