Hi everyone,

I am an international student from France on a F-1 visa, my husband is American and I started the process of AOS in order to obtain a green card.

I am completing the Form I-944 or "Declaration of Self-Sufficiency" and I have to list my household income.

My husband is my first household member, but as a student, my parents are financing my studies here in the US.

The instructions mention that "Any individual who provides to you at least 50 percent of your financial support, or who lists you as a dependent on his or her federal income tax return" and to mention if they are going to file a federal tax return.

Since my parents live in France, I was wondering if the "not required to file a tax return" is applicable ? and if the fact that they are french is a valid explanation for not filing.

Thanks by advance for your help and have a great day !
