Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone can help me with this. Our case was completed at the NVC on March 29, 2007 and Lagos, Nigera has yet to schedule the interview. Does anyone know who long it takes for them to schedule interviews for CR-1? Stacie

I'm not to sure if this will give you a better idea, but a friend of mines case completed NVC January 29, 2007 and her husband interview is now scheduled for July 16, 2007......Thank God. I heard they schedule only on the 15th of every month for the coming months interviews so you should call around that day and see whats what. I hope that you will be scheduled an interview soon. Continue to pray that the Lord will direct, lead, and guide your life just the way he designed it. Best of Luck and God Bless

CASE COMPLETE (THANK YOU JESUS) December 13, 2007

I don't know. My husband said that it's hard to get into the embassy without an appointment or the interview notification letter. I've tried calling the embassy and they don't answer.

I don't think the Embassy EVER answers the phone. I don't know about the CR-1, but with the K-1 I know that beneficiaries go to the embassy all the time. You should have some sort of tracking number that shows that the embassy has received the package, right? E-mail him the tracking confirmation and have him take that to the embassy. I think he's right that it may be difficult to get into the embassy, but it's worth a try, don't you think?

I know of people who filed for K-1 and their fiance went to the embassy with only the tracking confirmation and they were able to get into the embassy to pick up packets 3 & 4 and get their interview date. If you wait for the embassy to contact you, it's going to be forever!!!!!! Be PROACTIVE. Have him go to the embassy and try to get the stuff.

Hi, I know how frustrating it is to wait for the interview to be scheduled for the CR-1. I spent a lot of time analyzing the dates when i was in a similar situation. They usually schedule three week periods at a time. Meaning that since a jan 29th date got scheduled in june. Probably folks between Jan20th-around feb 15th got scheduled. Then for july interviews would be for mid feb to early march case completion. Then rest of march in august. I'm just estimating but i followed this pattern for a long time. I'm guessng ur interview would be scheduled in august. Latest september. They schedule on the 7th and 15th of the month but sometimes only on the 15th. I find that the automated machine updates on the second tuesday of the month so that way you can check to see if you've been scheduled.

Inquiries at Lagos embassy won't help since NVC schedules all the CR-1/IR-1 interviews

06/06/05 I-130 NOA1

06/14/05 K-3 NOA1

07/08/05 k-3 NOA2

07/22/05 K-3 leaves NVC to Lagos

08/08/05 Hubby picks up interview packet from embassy

11/17/05 K-3 interview (denied, C.O refused to take co-sponsor for k-3)

12/16/05 I-130 NOA2

01/03/06 NVC assigns case number

02/15/06 Case complete (thank you James Shortcuts- only 6 weeks!)

04/19/06 tired of waiting, filed k-3 #2 ( petition is still lost in oblivion)

09/11/06 NVC scheduled CR-1 interview/ on to Lagos (thank God after 7 months of waiting!)

10/14/06 Interview date (success!)

10/18/06 Hubby goes to pick up visa- not ready ( ugh what's going on!)

10/19/06 Visa in hand ( thank you God!)

10/29/06 Together at last :)

Whole process 1 year and 4 months

They are hell when it come to scheduling appointments for the Lagos embassy. My CR-1 was completed in March of 2006 & I have not been confirmed for an appointment until October of 2006 for November of the same year. My best advice is to be patient & yes he might be scheduled to visit the embassy a few times like mine has. The first time was to make sure he had everything we need including evidence of marriage, the second time was to collect everything needed and the 3rd time is for him to get his visa. Unfortunately, since after my husband had gotten visa, the sealed nvelope that was given to him gotten burnt so he had to see the medical doctor again so that was a little delay for him to come to the states

Good Luck
