So, I have a question for you. Is your step child your current wife’s child? Because I wonder why do you file 2 separate visa petitions?

You are sponsoring your spouse, so you entered 1 in Part 3 Question 29. This automatically fills out Part 5 Question 1 with the same value. Then begins the section titled "persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit". So since your spouse is being sponsored, don't put a 1 in Part 5 Question 3.

Did you file two different petitions for your wife and step child? Because hes right you can just file one petition and add multiple beneficiary's to the petition. Especially for the I-864. you can add 6  people.

For Part 5. 1 Item. Provide the number of you entered in Item Number 29. (If its 1 for your spouse the principle immigrant) then in Part 5. Item number 3. If you are currently married you should (enter 0) because your spouse is already counted in Part 5. Item number 1. (so shes not counted twice and you have a incorrect members of households)

For the dependent parts I do not know if step children are counted as "children" for Item number 4 or "other dependents" for Item number 5 . But you know the deal now. If shes counted already on the petition and counted in your total number for Part 5. Item number 1. do not count your step child twice in your household.

Good Luck to you.

Actually, I petition my spouse but doesn’t have any children.. I got approved from Nvc and currently we’re waiting for his interview date.

Yes,  you got my idea but in your case,  you need to put 2 instead of 1 in part 3 #29 and you need to check the box part 3 #2 and put the child’ Info under family member 1. I want you to check this i 864  instructions  item #2  says the “principal immigrant can bring children.” ...... So part 5 #1put 2 , for #2 put 1(for yourself) then add all together part5 #8 put total 3 (yourself, wife &the child)

But what I’m concerning is you said you file two separate petitions do you mean you send 2 different i 130 too?
