Hello all,

How important is it to have continuous employment when filling out the I-134? I have recently lost my job and we are close to getting the NOA2. I definitely have earned more than 125% over the poverty line.

Scott&Fabi,

When the time comes that a consular officer will be processing the visa application and determining whether or not the applicant meets the public charge provisions of the law, a K-visa applicant will either need to have sufficient resources of their own to support themselves in the USA for a while or they will need to have a sponsor to support them. A suitable sponsor will need to have an income of one form or another.

Recognize that yesterday's income will not pay tomorrow's bills, unless it was saved as an asset that can be liquidated or otherwise generate income.
