I'm going to file AOS for my K3 visa holder wife. my question is about "biometrics" does it has to be done before we submit the I-485 or after?

If before then, what number should we call to make an appointment?

&

If it has to be done After submiting I-485, then are they gonna give us the location, date & time to go for biometrics?

or do we have to call them to make an appointment?

do we have to make 2 seprate money orders for 325.00 & 70.00 or one for 395.00

& to what address listed below should we send the application.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

P.O. Box 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Attn: FBASI

427 S. LaSalle - 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60605-1098

any assistance will be appreciated!

You send in the AOS paperwork and the fees for AOS and biometrics, they will inform you when and where you will do the biometrics, in a letter that they will send you, the biometrics will be done at the closes USCIS office to where you live.

IF you mail the package using the good old United States Post office you send it to the PO box in Chicago, the other 426 LaSalle address is only for UPS/FEDEX/DHL couriers only because they cannot deliver at a Post Office Box.

We sent 2 seperate checks, but you can use 1 check, we did the 2 checks because last fall when USCIS started taking biometrics fee with the I-485, there was some confusion when people sent a check for $395

you will sent an appointment letter for Biometrics with date, place and time.

Family-Based Applications

If you are filing for lawful permanent resident status based on a family relationship with a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent

resident, file your I-485 at:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

P.O. Box 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

this address would be used if sent USPS. I used it by Certified Mail.

Or, for non-United States Postal Service (USPS) deliveries (such as overnight delivery services):

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Attn: FBASI

427 S. LaSalle - 3rd Floor

Chicago, IL 60605-1098

this address would be used for FedEx or DHL
