This is normal. For spousal visas, it usually take from 12 - 15 months to get issued a visa. So it is not surprising that you still have time to wait.

Also, it is the end of the year. We see this all the time around this time of year. People are rushing to try to get interviews so their loved ones can be here in time of the holidays. Not to mention, the Embassies recognize US holidays so they are not open as much. It causes a slow down.

Best you can do is keep track of your case and hope to hear something soon.

The latest interview I have seen scheduled is for a case complete August 16 for December. December interviews are now fully scheduled. My wife's case was complete Sept. 11. Usually after the 90 day mark is when Intervjew letters are arriving. So hopefully that means my wife gets a January interview on December. Most likely would be a February or March interview for your case if things continue at this pace. Usually around third week of every month they've been scheduling the next month's interviews.

This is crazy, i was informed when i started the whole process that since im a citizen it was only taking 6 to 8 months and as I see this will be taking longer and longer, it’s actually veryyyy frustrated

Yep, just when we thought the long waiting was over, they now have huge delays at embassies. In the past, supposedly it took only a week or two after case complete to get interview letter. Obviously not the case anymore.

Whoever told you that is highly mistaken. Spousal visa have been taking a year or more for quite some time now. I have been involved with immigration for more than 5 years and the only ones I have seen taking 6 - 8 months is people from Canada or the UK.

Sorry you were fed misinformation. Take a look at the current timelines for the DR. Maybe early next year you will have him here.

Best of luck to you.

And how long since you started your wife’s process? It is been a year like mine?
