Immigrant visa packet returned

Hi, I just wanted to know if anybody here experienced the same situation we are currently in right now and how long is the timeline usually. So my parents had their interview 9/12/19, had to go to NBI afterwards for the 221g documents then sent the updated clearances immediately same day in the afternoon. Their immigrant visas were issued 9/30/19 and was delivered by 2Go 10/2/19. They completed PDOS, then I booked flights to the US and paid their immigrant visa fees of $220 each. Then, 10/8/19, my mother received a call from the US embassy that my father’s immigrant visa packet has to be mailed back to the embassy. They sent it back the same day they got the call with a copy of the booked flights. Also, I emailed them for inquiry but no response. A few days after, 10/10/19, I received an email from Manila IV info asking my father to appear at NBI for an interview. They did go NBI the following day, 10/11/19 and we do not have any update since other than Ready on the CEAC website. I ended up cancelling their flights and paying the penalties. I wonder how long will this take? I am afraid that they my parents may not be able to travel together (they should, both senior citizens over 70 y/o) if there’s no embassy decision on or before 11/26/19, which is my mother’s IR5 visa validity. Thank you and please share your thoughts.

At this point there is not much that can be done but watch CEAC status, and be patient.  If the deadline for your mom gets close and your dad doesn't have his visa there is little to do except get your mom on an airplane so she clears POE before the expiration date on the visa.

I hope everything goes quickly for your dad so they can travel together.

Hi!

Is there any update on your CEAC status? Did you receive your visa back?
