Hey guys,

Does anyone know how long it take for a service request to be assigned to someone for processing ?

I'm out of processing times, waiting for EAD/AP for over 170 days and slowly losing my mind.

04/01/2019 - filed marriage-based AoS, EAD and AP

04/03/2019 - NOA

05/02/2019 - Biometrics appointment

08/20/2019 - I-693 courtesy letter

08/22/2019 - I-485 interview ready to be scheduled

09/15/2019 - filed SR for EAD/AP out of processing time (not assigned)

09/27/2019 - I-485 interview scheduled

06/11/2019 - Interview at the NY Queens field office

07/11/2019 - I-130 APPROVED

08/11/2019 - I-485 APPROVED, card mailed

You're supposed to hear back from a service request within 30 days, but that's not guaranteed. For some reason when you send a service request they have an expected reply by date that's about 2-3 weeks, but it's really 30 days. The day it hits 30, call them again and ask to speak to a tier 2 to escalate (have to do this early in the morning or you'll either be in an all-day long queue waiting for a callback, or the queue will be full and you have to try again the next day).

I'm at 337 days myself; first 2 service requests were ignored and the 3rd one resulted in a non-answer after 2 weeks ("due to workload factors not related to your case USCIS anticipates a delay").

11/12/2017 - Entered US on J1
10/18/2018 - Filed AOS at NBC
12/11/2018 - Biometrics
02/28/2019 - USCIS mailed RFIE on I485
05/09/2019 - USCIS received RFIE response
06/11/2019 - USCIS mailed another RFIE on I485
06/19/2019 - USCIS received 2nd RFIE response
07/24/2019 - I485 ready to schedule for interview
01/22/2020 - I485 interview (in San Jose instead of San Francisco)
