Expedite Request Denied but status changed to Received

I put in a request for expedite on August 28, 2019 through Tier 1. I also submitted the request through my senator and she received an update yesterday that the case is pending with the supervisor and asked me to wait for 2 weeks. This morning, I received an an email to the expedite request that I made through Tier 1, it has been denied. An hour later, my application status changed to they have received my expedite proofs and it has been forwarded to an officer for a review. I am so confused! So, which one is the latest update? The denial or the request has been forwarded to an officer.

Thanks in advance for your time.

I generally trust the email more than the online status.

I received both emails...

First one:

Your request has been denied

Second one, an hour later...an email and status update:

We have received it and it's with an officer
