Hello everyone,

my wife holds a Yemeni passport and interviewed on December 2018 in KSA where she’s a resident. Since then, we noticed only one update on the CEAC on January 7th, 2019. When should I notice the next update and what would it mean? It’s been almost six months in AP since the last and only update. The one update is related to the submission of the DS-5535 I’m sure. Few questions here:

1. Does she qualify for undue hardship just for being a spouse of a US citizen? Or should we submit a waiver package (some lawyers claim it’s necessary)?

2. Is the update following the one related to the DS-5535 is regarding the qualification for the waiver?

3. How many updates on the website should I expect before visa issuance?

4. Anyone with similar case interviewed at the Riyadh embassy? What was the process like?

thank you

By the time you read this reply, hopefully your wife has already received the visa. My kids had interviews in Dec 2018 in Riyadh. In Sep 2019, they received an email requesting updated reports to be sent along w their passports. We are waiting.

Actually the visa was just issued today!
