I completed my bio-metrics for N-400 on 11/1/18 and it previously said the estimated case completion date was Nov. 2019. However, when I checked recently, the estimated case completion date is now June 2020. I'm trying to plan foreign travel for the end of the year for a family event but not sure whether to take the completion date lightly. Is there a possibility that the estimated case completion date will get pushed forward (before June 2020)? Not sure if anyone has seen this before.

Also, can you travel outside of the country between your interview and oath ceremony?

Thank you to anyone that has some input!

Not really reliable, but depends on your local office.

Many people get done way faster than the estimates, others have their estimates change (extended) during the process.  I guess in that latter sense they are at least probably eventually accurate!
