I751 Approval After Citizenship Through Adoption

In March of 2018 we filed ROC for my wife and then step son.  In the interim, I finalized the adoption of my step son and based on that adoption we were able to submit an application for a US passport making him a US citizen.  As a part of this process, his conditional green card was returned.

Now, we have received approval notices for both of their ROCs and 10 year green cards are supposedly being produced and sent.

That said, what action do we need to take once they arrive?  Should we just make copies of his US passport along with a cover letter explaining that he already has his US passport/citizenship and send that with his green card?  I assume that its just an oversight on their part as I believe we received a receipt/letter for the return of the conditional green card, so they had to be aware of it.

Thanks in advance.
