Haiti Unrest Dilemma

5 posts in this topic

Our K1 has been at NVC for the last two months because Haiti wasn't accepting K1/K3 visas because they were under staffed due to unrest.  We contacting the Dominican Republic to see if we could transfer countries but we just got an e-mail yesterday stating that our visa was sent to PAP in Haiti and could take a few weeks to get there.  We are curious if there's three months of visas that have been backed up at the NVC now released to Haiti or if ours just happened to be sent down.  We are curious if anyone else that just got notified that their visa was sent to PAP this week.  Will we probably be waiting forever for an interview?  Thank you!

I’ve been waiting for an interview date for my husband they sent mines to PAP since February 2019 , still haven’t received an interview date or any other response . When I call NVC they say the same thing . “ Everything is completed on our end , you’re just waiting for Haiti embassy to respond with a date for your interview “.... sadly it’s been a guessing game . It’s going on two years since I filed this petition 😔

I'm sorry to hear about your problems getting an interview.  We are sending in all the documents today after we get back the medical exam results this morning and are hoping to hear back soon.  Have you had any luck calling the Haitian US Embassy?

This process is so long and hard, I feel really sad that people's lives are not settled because of these issues.  I will pray that you get an interview soon!
