Hi everyone.......

Good Day...

I am a 22 year old filipina applying for a fiance visa to marry my 37 year old american fiance, we're just waiting for the NOA 2. I read from all the uploaded files in this website that age gap maybe a hindrance for applying fiance visa especially during the interview at the US embassy in the Philippines, with our age gap of 15 years... what do you think?..I'm just wondering if you have knowledge about this issue..

I'll wait for your reply..thankS in advance... and just want to say goodluck to all of us...

While it's true that in other countries, big age gap can raise red flags, here in the Philippines, it's not really a hindrance in getting a visa as long as you can prove that the relationship is bona fide, you have supporting documents as proof and most of all, you really love each other. I have seen cases here that got approved despite the huge age gap. I used to worry about this because my fiance and I have 30+ age difference but after getting reassured that everything is going to be alright as long as I can prove that our relationship is not a fraud, I am now more relaxed and confident that I can pass my upcoming interview.

Good luck on your journey! May the rest of it goes smoothly for you!

Hi Robert and Sheryl,

I am 41 and my financee is from Cebu and she is 24 in December. I hired an attorney to take care of the documents and he has a 100% money back guarantee for placement as long as everything we stated is accurate on our application. He does not see a problem with our age. A lot of time when age comes into affect is if the petioner (American) is close to retirement age and his/her fiancee is a lot younger then they may question the age difference. Like everyone stated below, just have your documents prepared and be confident is what my Attorney said as well.

Good luck!

Don't worry much about the age gap. There are others who have a bigger age gap than yours and got approved. What they will be more concerned is if the relationship is "bonafide", if you really love each other and how you handle the interview, so present your documents/proofs/photos well and you will be just fine.

I am 32 years older than Claudeth and we had absolutely no problems. As long as your paperwork is in order you shouldn't have much to worry about, at least not the age issue.

Good luck
