I called the NVC yesterday to get my MNL#, in which they gave me, then I asked the status regarding my case and the guy kindly told me that it was sent to the Philippine Embassy on 5/25. Wow, that was quick only two days from 5/23 to 5/25. Next step, interview date, I guess I need to really start gathering all the documents required, I'm going to make sure my baby is prepared well in advance. Keep up the Great work NVC!

If they have transfered your case, you had better check the embassy site for your appointment!

Kathlene's case was tranfered on 5/22 and when I checked, her interview was scheduled for June 6!

So get all your paperwork ready and hope for the best!

I do not know what we would have done if someone hadn't told me to check for an interview date! I got the packet today which would have only given us about 8 days to do EVERYTHING with Monday being a holiday!

Yes, USE Manila seemed to schedule interview dates sooner now. Our petition was also just received by US embassy last May 21. I checked their website May 23 and typed my case number just for fun but to my surprise, I found out that they have already sheduled me for medical and interview. I don't want to believe it at first, since i know the embassy just received our case. But last Friday, May 25, DHL delivered my packet 4. That's the only time i really believed it. My interview is set on July 11, at least i have more than a month to prepare for it. I have also read about other couples in other forums who just received their NOA2 approvals this May and were already scheduled for interviews in June, much earlier than mine.

I am thinking that maybe the backlog of USE Manila has lessen and they can now schedule medical and interview dates sooner. It used to be a 3-4 months wait from NOA2 to interview but now i see some are scheduled within 2 months to a few weeks from receiving NOA2. So it is good news for us. We don't have to wait that long to be with our love one!

So check the US embassy website, you never know you might already have your schedules.

This is wonderful news for sure. But it makes me a little nervous as I (like many others) aren't officially approved. What would happen if by interview time, still no NOA2??

Actually, you are officially approved if your case is at the NVC/Consulate stages already, although you will need to request a hardcopy of your NOA2. You will need that in doing AOS in the future.
