Nick Name

Hi,

I am the beneficiary in K1 visa. I have a question about nick name. I have never used nick name anywhere. All of my legal documents are on my original first and last name. I have been to US few times on tourist visa too and i never mention nick name in any of my visa petition. But when my fiance filed K1, I found out that my ex-husband used namita alias nimi (the name he used to call me with) in divorce petition. This was an ex parte divorce taken by my ex husband and later on I accepted. I am worried now because divorce decree is with nick name and I never mentioned nick name in my recent B2 visa petition (rejected because I have family ties) and I 129F petition. Kindly help.

Nicknames are common amongst partners. It isn't legal, so on the documentation asking about "nicknames" isn't really relevant. My husband and I had "nicknames" or whatever for eachother, he goes by Zian and has for years, but that isn't his legal name. He had me listed as a different name in his phone even. He had been to the US for two internships prior to us meeting, we never mentioned it at all, we had no issues. Think that questions alarms people because they over think it.
