Appointment schedule.

I just received the notice from NVC that all my docs is completed and the NVC said that they working with the consulate to schedule my incoming appointment interview. I just want to ask for those who had experienced before if how many days before they get the schedule of appointment and how many days/weeks before do the medical and appointment date in the US consulate?

What visa category are you? K1/ CR1/ IR1/ etc? 

 

K1 applicants schedule their own interview.

 

CR1/IR1 will get scheduled anywhere from 2-4 weeks from the embassy receive date.  That depends on availability at the specific embassy.

 

Depending on the country, you need your interview date letter in hand to schedule.  I recommend making that appointment right when you have that interview letter.  Some countries, for example the one my husband lives in, do not require the letter to schedule a medical.  Best way to find out is to check your specific embassy's information page and it will state what is needed to obtain the medical exam.  It's best to do this with at least a week before the interview so that you do not arrive at the interview without results.
