DCF London - USC Birth Certificate

Hi all. In the document checklist it lists that the beneficiary should bring an original or certified copy of their own birth certificate, plus that of their spouse, even if their spouse isn't immigrating with them. So I guess that would be me, the US citizen. Can anyone confirm that this is actually necessary? I don't have a certified copy of my birth certificate here in England with me, and I have no idea where the original is. I imagine it'll be difficult for me to get ahold of a certified copy now! Thanks for any help.

Birth certificates can be ordered online in most states.  I would email ACS (embassy) to clarify this.  I don't think this applies to USC petitioners.
