EAD Renewal (any delays?)

I am a Jan 2018 AOS filer from a L-1 visa. My L-1 went out of status Sep 2018. I now use the EAD which expires July 2019.

I live in Houston and believe I am being processed out of the field office there( I sent package to the Chicago lockbox.)

There is a 2 - 3 year wait time for the I-485. I may have 1 to 2 years to go.

At worst case - I will need to renew the EAD again (and again,again......)

I now hope for seamless renewals while I continue to wait! Thus I can retain continuous employment.

Has anyone experienced delays in EAD renewals?

Oh great.

(c)(9)

Pending Adjustment of Status under Section 245 of the Act

Do I need to file for an extension still OR as I am otherwise eligible for an extension I automatically will be renewed? Actually it states:

Quote

We are doing so to help prevent gaps in employment authorization and documentation. This extension applies to Form I-765 renewal applications that are still pending on January 17, 2017, and to Form I-765 renewal applications filed on or after Jan. 17, 2017.

So yes need to file an extension...

Interesting that this rule is in effect you would think they would automatically translate this into the expiration date on the first EAD card....

Thanks!

Andrew
