No way of converting them for UK license holders unfortunately - you need to take the written test and the driving test itself at the DMV.

There's no separate test for manual / auto either, so if you pass your test in an Auto you can still drive a manual

I found that out in Georgia. It's strange because if you take your test in the USA in a automatic, how can you also dive a manual with tuition? First you will not know what the clutch is and secondly you would be an accident waiting to happen.

It's the same here in New Zealand, if you take your full licence test in an Auto, you can drive a manual. But not for restricted licences (the one that comes before the full licence) if you do that in an auto you can only drive auto cars until you get your full.

I have a DMV app on my phone so I can get to know the MA road laws before arriving since some signs etc are different to NZ, also need to work on converting feet and miles lol
