Medical Exam and Interview

Hello everyone!

My case now is 150 days old, and expected to get the next notice in November or December. I have a few questions about medical exam and interview under travel visa.

As the beneficiary's work visa in Australia is expiring soon. Because she will have some events to celebrate in the upcoming months in Australia. So she tries to apply for a travel visa to extend her stays for a little bit more.

1) Is it possible to have the medical exam and interview in Australia during her travel visa?

2) If not. Should I make a transfer request when our case received at NVC? Or wait until the Consulate in Australia received it, then call them to request the transfer?

Thank you very much!

All the best.

What exactly is her Australian visa/status*? She can only interview in Sydney if she is a citizen or resident of Australia: https://au.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/

*Try contacting the Immigrant Visa section of the consulate to verify if her status is valid to interview in Sydney.

She is not Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia. She only have a work visa (work legally ) in Australia, and it will be expiring soon.

She will applying for a travel visa after that . So her interview could be take place  when she is on her travel visa in Australia.

So is it possible for her to take the K1 interview in Sydney as a traveller?

Their email is support-australia@ustraveldocs.com. Or call: 1300 139 399 in Australia toll-free, 02 8278 1420 toll-free local call in New South Wales/Australian Capital Territory, 1 646 259 0526 toll-free in the United States. It says that they are available between 9am-6pm EDT (I presume it's Australian Eastern Daylight Time, not Eastern Daylight Time). They are closed today, Monday, for Columbus Day (but it's already Tuesday 1:44 AM in Canberra at the time of this post): https://au.usembassy.gov/holiday-calendar/
