Do I really need his birth certificate? He'd have to order another one cuz he can't find it..

He was wondering if his passport (which stipulates he was born in the USA) would do...

If he is the US Citizen, he shouldn't need his birth certificate. Those documents are asking for the Canadian citizen's information.

Anyways, ordering a birth cert is really easy and cheap. Plus since you will be headed to Montreal, you have 4-6 months to wait anyways, so there's plenty of time. One day, I went to the County Clerk's office in the county I was born, and asked for an original birth certificate. I waited 10 minutes and paid 5 dollars.

Liz, I'd check your Packet 3 instructions when you get them since I know they're going to be different from what Vancouver sent me. I know mine said that they needed both one original and one photocopy of each person that is named in the application. I took it as that they required both mine and Bee's; I could be wrong, but better safe than sorry.
