I have received my Bio metrics appointment for both I 485 and EAD. I received my EAD and it expires on 12/27/18. I haven't heard anything about my greencard and it says invalid when I try to check status using the receipt number they provided me. I've tried to contact them using the 1-800 number and they don't have an option for talking to an officer. So I have few questions.

a) How do I get to talk to an officer? There's no options in the main menu so if someone can give me how to get to that option clearly, that'd be great.

b) Since my EAD expires on 12/27/18, and hasn't heard anything about my greencard, when do I need to apply for a new EAD

Thank you very much!

You should have 2 notices. One is the biometrics and the other is the NOA one. For some odd reason you need to enter the number on the biometrics one to access your case. Theres also 2 USCIS websites right now as I think they are phasing one out.

Search the forum for how to get a person on phone center line if no one posts the specifics here- I know its in several threads.

Do you qualify for the 180 day extension for the EAD
