Police certificate authentication DR

My wife got her police certificate today and it has a code. She was told that she is supposed to go to a website to authenticate it. First,  I'm a little confused about that step. Second,  does the confirmation page showing authentication need a translation? It is going to NVC and it is for the Dominican Republic. Thank you for your help.

Actually, the certificate has 2 codes. Could someone also explain authenticating? I can't find any information on this anywhere.

My husband aslo went  and printed his police certificate online and it has two bar codes blue and green. This is the new way to verify the information on the police report. I did translate my husband police certificate. It states to do so in the checklist, however I was told from some people that I didnt have to but its better safe than sorry. I sent my package to NVC and I received a checklist and it didnt say anything about my husband police certificate. I I I just called my husband and he said he didnt do anything special to his police report after printing it put via computer. He sent to me as  PDF via email.

I found these links for you if you want to research it. See  sample attachments below.

I called my husband he said there is no confirmation page  he just printed the page he provided me. The codes are used so you print out your police certification online. I did not include a confirmation page in my package. Hopefully it wasnt needed in my case if it does exist. If you still unsure at the bottom of the link in their website theres contact information.
