Hello All,

I recently spoke to Deutsch post (DP) about sending my packet 3 contents to the consular in Frankfurt for my DCF process and received some information that I thought would be beneficial to VisaJourney.

For everyone sending their packet 3 (pre-interview) contents to the US consulate in Frankfurt:

I sent my pre-interview contents to the Consular Immigrant Visa department via Deutsch post "registered" mail (Einschreiben Einwurf). My tracking information stated that the package was "out for delivery" for over 5 days and got worried so I spoke to Deutsch post about the package.

They told me: The US consulate in Frankfurt receives a large amount of mail, so DP does not confirm that their packages have been delivered when they have been given to the consulate. Instead, DP registers when the letter was delivered, and then the US consulate has 7 days to provide a response back to DP that they have received the letter. Only after confirmation from the consulate will DP update the status of the letter/package as delivered. Thus, any letter/package sent to the embassy via "Einschreiben" will not immediately register as delivered by DP; it can take up to 7 days for a letter/package to be confirmed as delivered even when all is going well.

I hope this saves everyone some worry when sending these pre-interview original copies and sensitive forms.

Hey.

Thid might not perfectly fit to your post here but me and my husband are filing in Germany (Frankfurt) too and for days now I’m trying to find out what kind of letter we got.

A few days after we send it in we got a letter from the embassy with a notification that they received our form etc and there is a receipt on a sheet of paper with done informations on it.

Sb told me this our NOA1 but there is no case number.

I’m completely confused.

Coukd you maybe help me and share your experiences with me?

Thank you

Hi,

I am assuming that you sent in the packet for the I-130, so if I am incorrect, let me know. Regardless, I also believe this to be the NAO1 and if i am not mistaken, you case number  will be provided in the NOA2 after your I-130 is approved. (Note — Getting the case number in the NAO2 may be a DCF specific thing)

I will need to check my copy of the NAO1 that we received but I am sure that there are likely others here that can correct me if I’m wrong.

@Stöpsel You can get a sense of how long it's been taking Visa Journeys members (including OP) to go from NOA1 to NOA2 by looking at this search: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=&op2=&op3=5&op4=1&op6=All&op7=Germany&dfile=Yes&adv=1 . That search is specific to German DCF filers.
