Hey All,

My fiance and I received NOA2 on May 10th ( super excited)  and we're a bit ahead of the game as far as gathering documents. We have mostly everything together- I-134, DS-160 complete, original I-129F package, all supporting documentation but we still have some small things to do

I have a couple questions that any help on would be appreciated

 1. does anyone have a website they prefer for certified translations? we need to do her birth certificate, and police certificate from Venezuela and Brazil.

2 Also I notice a lot of people say to start calling NVC roughly 10 days after NOA2 but I read an older thread that people were able to email  NVC and get their case number which allowed them to proceed with the medical ahead of receiving the paperwork in the mail

3 we completed the DS160 and for some reason in my head I thought we would be able to pay for it online (not so fast) .... when is that fee paid and what is the best way to pay it

4. The doctor fee in Brazil from what I can see cost 180USD, what is the best way to be able to pay this? and does anyone have experience on if the cost typically goes over the estimate if she needs vaccines?

5.  Lastly, my fiance is a Venezuelan citizen living in Brazil (under asylum)  ...... her documentation to renew her asylum status in Brazil expires at the end of May and she is waiting on police certificates to finalize the documentation with Brazil (as well as get the Police certificates to finalize preparation for interview) .... She is worried that the paperwork from Brazil will take possibly more than a month to renew her asylum status and get updated documentation in her hands. Would her documentation for her asylum status in Brazil be something that is needed at the interview? She has a valid Ven passport as well as all other documentation.

1. Translations don’t need to be certified. Just find someone who’s fluent in both languages who can translate and write a statement saying they’re fluent and allowed to translate. It cannot be either of you.

2. Just call NVC after a week or two for case number. Brazil does not mail anything out. Email never really gets answered.

3.  You pay your fees on the ceac website. There are instructions there.

4. You can only pay the doctor in cash. Either US dollars or Brazilian reals. She should get all her vaccines at public clinics before going to see him because if she’s missing anything they charge anywhere between a couple hundred bucks to over a thousand.

5. I’m gonna say she needs that at the interview because if you’re not a Brazilian citizen you need to prove that you are in Brazil legally to be able to be interviewed there. If she doesn’t have the paperwork in time she’s gonna have to change her interview date or even move embassies back to Venezuela. But I don’t know know how Visa issuance is in Venezuela given its situation right now so you may wanna push for the asylum documentation as soon as possible.

Good luck.

1. Thank you!

2. After we call and get the case number, I'm guessing we can schedule the doctors appointment with just the case number? we don't need any paperwork?

3. It's asking for a case number to pay, after completion of the ds 160 we only received the confirmation number but we can't pay with that. I'm guessing I have to wait until we get case number from NVC to pay?

4. thanks

5. Thanks

After getting the case number you call and schedule everything yourself. I think I just used USCIS number to pay the fee. I can’t remember if I waited for the number or not. Check to see what kind of number it’s asking you. If your case is at NVC now it shouldn’t be too long before you get a number so you can just wait.

Whitakerd1029 My fiancee is in a similar situation as he is also an asylum and I am worried about the expiration date. Will you be able to finish the process/interview before your fiance's renewal date? Please let me know how that all works out. T

She was able to renew and get updated documents to last through the interview process from the police
