Well, just a big shout out to everyone who's on interview this week - it seems like a particularly busy one! Wishing you all the very best - perhaps I'll see JandC on Friday...

Just booked my taxi to Birmingham New Street station - it arrives at 4:45am!!! No sleep for me then!! :wacko:

December 06 - Filed I129F petition with California Service Center

March 07 - Received petition approval notice

April 07 - Applied for Police Certificate through West Midlands police

24 April 07 - Received Packet 3 from London Embassy

1 May 07 - Received receipt for Police Certificate

5 May 07 - Mailed DS-230 Part I, DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157 back to the Embassy

9 May 07 - London Embassy receives forms

9 May 07 - Medical at Bentinck Mansions

1 June 07 - Mailed document checklist

8 June 07 - Received Police Certificate (39 days from receipt)

15 June 07 - Touched by the Embassy

21 June 07 - Interview date confirmed as 10 August 07

22 June 07 - Received Packet 4

10 August 07 - Interview at London Embassy - APPROVED!

...wedding date is 3 September 07!

OMG you are going to be knackered! I'm quite lucky cause it only takes about an hour to get to London from where I live (by train).

My interview is at 9.30 too....so probably will see ya at some point.

Does anyone know if you are allowed to take a friend with you into the embassy? My friend is coming to London with me for the day and she doesn't really want to be stuck in London by herself for a few hours while i'm at the interview. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I don't think they are allowed in. I believe you have to be a USC or have an interview appointment. Please correct me if I am wrong anyone.

I don't think they are allowed in. I believe you have to be a USC or have an interview appointment. Please correct me if I am wrong anyone.

Neal had his mother with him because they were going to go walking around London afterwards, and they wouldn't let her in the Embassy, so I'm thinking probably not, unfortunately.

Yup, USCs and visa applicants only, I'm afraid. Point the friend towards Selfridges -- plenty of fun window shopping and messing about with stuff to be had there!

As of today, USC's are no longer allowed into the Embassy with the visa applicant. Change of policy starting today apparently! Hubby brandished his US Passport and they said NO!! One person managed to slip their wife in to the waiting room, someone spotted her and asked her to leave the building....

Just a warning to the folks with their interviews coming up......

I feel all alone being the only person waiting for an interview date so far lol

I sent pack 3 back last Wednesday I think lol

Medical is this Friday. Train tickets already booked. It worked out cheaper for me to go first class from Liverpool to London which is gonna be nice.
