Congrats, psho!! It looks like they're finally getting their butts in gear!

Just a question, what email do you use for the Embassy? is it LondonConsular@state.gov? Do you just have to keep emailing them until they don't automatically delete your email without reading it like they've done mine?

I am wondering because I wanted to email them about our medical date. Neal didn't get through to set one up before he sent off the P3, so he simply wrote "pending" for medical date on the checklist. He called the next business day and set up an appointment for a week later, July 3. I wanted to inform the Embassy that he had, in fact, already gone to his medical. I am worried they will wait to give us an interview date if they have not received the forms from the doctors (Neal had to go into his GP July 4 to give them a form requesting they send a letter regarding his past depression and I'm not sure how quickly the doc sent the letter back to Knightsbridge).

We put September 1st as our travel date, so I'm hopeful they will take that into account.

Thanks for all the well wishes!! Congrats to psho as well!! Looks like we'll be storming the Embassy on the 31st! We are so excited. Congrats to Teddy as well on getting the visa in your hot little hands!

Good luck to you guys waiting. Seems like they finally decided to schedule some interviews - always all at once with them. I found out by my morning DOS phone call. I did actually call back this afternoon to ask if Packet 3 was going to be resent and if we'd need any of the things that were supposed to have been in there (as we never rec'd it) and to verify that I DID in fact hear the lady this morning correctly about us having a date. When I called the second time, the girl that answered said "have you heard the good news yet?!?" I told her that yes, I did, and was so excited that I forgot to ask the questions I was supposed to ask! She laughed at me! Still floating on Cloud 9 despite all of the "oh #######, gotta do this and this and this" thoughts. Looks like my trip over this weekend will be a celebration weekend! Now we just hope the rest goes smoothly!

I leave day after tomorrow at 4:20! WOO HOO!

I laughed so hard at this!!! I liked the "good luck!" dude!! Got new one today - had an accent, perhaps African (not sure about that, but she sounded a lot like one of my co-workers that's from Africa.) She was really nice, too, though. And yes, cranky lady and her heavy sighs when she looks at the file and recognizes the file as the same one that she's seen the ###th time!

I used the LondonConsular@state.gov address, and I did get the "Nyah nyah we deleted without reading it! How dare you use this email?" but they did respond, eventually. And the email the sent telling me our interview date was completely unsolicited, so I was quite surprised.

Just make sure you reference the case in the subject line and the body of the email. I emailed them twice over the course of two weeks.

My guy was chilling at home with his brother (who had good news of his own: his band has just been signed to play at the Reading/Leeds Festivals), and I called him to tell him the great news.

He later told me that he was embarrassed because he cried in front of his brother: crying with happiness and stress relief, he was just so emotionally overwhelmed.

The best part is that I'll be flying over to visit and accompany him on the interview! I so can't wait!!!

This was before I knew of the secret code word. I just assumed that they didn't have our case in the system, and when it got there, they would accept it. HA! Guess they got tired of my resends, so they did finally respond that our case was, in fact, there.

Is there some reason why I keep getting the "Our office is closed message" when calling DoS? Do they have a lunch break or something? They keep telling me to call back Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, but it's now 11:20 am there on a Wednesday.

That happened once to me too. I don't know if it's an overwhelmed phone system or what. It eventually was back online by, I think 10am Cali time when I experienced it. Random.

As for the above question about the secret code - that's a code that the toll line (scotland DOS info line) will give out (when it feels like it) that you supposedly need to get a real answer from the embassy using the embassy email address.

Except that there are about 1000 different experiences people have with trying to email. Most everyone gets the "Deleted without being read" auto reply. Some get a real answer. We emailed once without the code, once with the code, and never got any sort of reply at all. Others without the code have received replies. Who knows. But the code can't be obtained from the US line.
