AOS interview successful, but waiting for FBI name check

I have been reading quite a lt on this subject since this seems to be the newest hurdle for us. The more I read, the more ##### up it all seems. The DOS JUST ###### did this on us last year. They cannot possibly be any more moronic.

I guess I will just write some letters and be pissed off that they go unanswered and ignored.

Disclaimer : yes i know we have only waited a month, but we had 8 months of this before. im just sick of this today - tomorrow i will feel better :yes:

Lal Brandow, I feel the exact same way as you do. I have also been doing alot of reading and research and am getting more and more mad. It is so frustrating that we do everything right, yet have no control over what happens next and must just simply wait. It is even more frustrating to see all kinds of people getting approved without interviews, altough I am happy for them. Oh well, I guess we can only wait some more.

Talked to an immigration attorney regarding FBI namechecks, once again!! Just more disappointment sorry to report...

She told me that this waiting, even up to two years, seems to be the "norm". She said the ombudsman doesnt do any good because the USCIS did their job. The FBI is the one holding these namechecks and doing that service. Also that people are waiting for years for yet another namecheck once they file for citizenship.

Leaves us all waiting I guess, and just keeping up the EAD's and AP's by renewing them....

The standard response from Congressmen now, because of this influx of name checks, is "we can't do anything to speed up the process".

Wish it was better news.

I had to laugh when I read this part of your update....this would be the truth if the USCIS had actually submitted the biometrics report and name check request to the FBI, at least in Carina's case.

Bottom line is no one wants to take responsibility for long delays and screwing up the lives of people doing the immigration process the right way...it's a sad demonstration of our government (and tax dollars) at work.

It's always "the other guys fault".

Its just so frustrating and you just don't know who to listen to anymore!

Its comforting in a way knowing you're not the only one with VJ and situations that have complicated peoples lives.

Great idea JP! Adding our country of Nationality will add least let us see if people from specific countries are being targeted or if it's just something that's being done across the board. All the best of luck to you in getting a speedy name check result.
