The only requirement is the most recent year but I included the most recent 3 years as additional support evidence.

it is my understanding if a person is above the poverty guidelines then all is needed is the current w2 and current tax return. That is all what i submitted since I did not have to submitt additional supporting income.

The most important evidence is for current income. I was asked for an updated employment letter at the interview even though I had submitted a new one with the application only 6 months previous. They want to be sure that you are currently employed at a level that qualifies. Tax records show what you made last year, not that you are still employed.

My husband is above the poverty guidelines for all three years. I'd rather give them more than they need than not enough.
