Changing and Adjusting Status.

Was I suppose to 'Change' my wife's status before I applied for her AOS? Did anyone actually go and visit their local USCIS office to 'Change' their wife's status (inform them you married,) before applying for AOS (I-485)?

I believe that once AOS is approved that is when your wife's status will change to LPR. Nothing changes when you get married unless she changed her name.

I was surprised when I saw your timelime that you sent doc to local USCIS to update for somethings. I don't know if it's correct or not.

I applied for SSN just 3 days after US entry, they issued the Social Security Card for me already after 1 month and a half. They said when we get married we come back to inform them, but David told me that it is only necessary to come back if we want to change my family name to David's family name after get married, but we decided not to change my name. So, is it the point that we have to come back to the local office to change from maiden name to new name??

I'm confused in this matter. Please give me an idea.
