I'm currently in the biometrics stage of AOS. My driver's license is expiring soon. According to North Carolina laws, I can't change the name on my driver's license unless the change has been made with the SS office. Which I don't think I can do without a reason like, about to take on a job. So I'm waiting on EAD for a name change with SS.

Could I change my name with DMV if I show I'm in AOS? Apparently driver's licenses are also becoming full-out IDs so more identification is required and I was hoping I could use NOA1 letter and marriage certificate.

Thought I'd ask here before calling DMV and getting harassed on the phone...
