Do I check box A for this? I filed the I-129F visa.

Check box "a" if you are the petitioner who is filing or who

has already filed Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative;

Form I-600, Petition to Classify Orphan as an Immediate

Relative; or Form I-600A, Application for Advance

Processing of Orphan Petition. If you are the petitioner, you

must sponsor each intending immigrant.

Ephesus,

Why are you looking at I-864 at this stage of your visa journey?

Ephesus,

For a K visa? The INA and the State Department's Foreign Affairs Manual are quite clear that I-864 is not to be used for the K visas.

Hey,

(Always like seeing your replies)

I-864 is the form the French Embassy uses for affidavit of support. My fiancée's interview should be in the next month or two.

Ephesus,

The Embassy Info section of VJ also shows that the consulate in France uses the I-864. The visa pages of the embassy's web site are not as detailed and specific as might be desired, virtually ignoring the K visas. It would be nice to see the instructions they provide to K-visa applicants with regard to meeting the public charge provisions of the law.

I wonder what they'd say if a K-visa applicant used I-134?

Yodrak

The French embassy is out of date, or so I hear.

I asked someone in the French/American couples and that is the form they gave the embassy.

Stuck.
