Tel me about it. I know how painful from my own experience. For the last 18 months there is nothing I haven't done. Unemployed, multiple part-time positions. Finally, I decided to change career, from the last bit of savings decided to go back to grad school. School almost coming to an end and had gone for many interviews no luck. But just an hour a go got the phone call I was  waiting to hear for a long time. After all the ups and downs in life, got an  offer for a full time position!!!!!!

Now I wanted to ask another question and let me know your thoughts.

Last week I was eligible to apply for N400. But as you know I did not have a good income at all. But 3 weeks from now I am starting a full time position will all the benefits. Should I wait until that date comes so that I can put my full time position in the employment history? If any question arises I can say that I will not be a burden an have proof in hand. Will that help in anyway (I mean waiting job start date to apply for N400)

Thank you!!

You can start a N400 application online anytime. You just have to keep the account "alive" for 30 days. To do that you can start filling it out, save it, sign out and  sign back in and add more responses and/or upload documents. When your application is ready for submission, then by all means, send it out.

That being said, I would wait till you formally start your job so you can add it to your N400 application. Technically, you can add that information during the interview. Either way it is up to you. If you are under some kind of time constraint, better to get it in sooner.

In my case I needed to get mine done because we are flying to my home country for Thanksgiving later in the year, and I wanted to have a US passport in my hand. Plus I want to vote!
