Your email contradicts our case records. Case records indicate you were not emailed K1 instructions until 20-MAR-2018. We do not show that you had an interview scheduled for 14-MAR-2018.

Thank You,

Consular Section

U.S. Embassy – Accra, Ghana

This is is what they sent to my fiancé yesterday.. cuz I was at the embassy on 14th March so I don’t understand y they r saying I didnt have an interview scheduled on that day

I don't understand. You were at the embassy on the 14th March for an interview you mean? And did you had appointment letter for the 14th March?

About the K1 visa interview instructions/requirements, we never received any from them. We only received an appointment date from them which was even the NEXT DAY.

My fiancee picked her visa up from DHL last week and she was given only 3 months expiring date (in Ghana) instead or the normal 6 months. So a lot is going on in/at the immigration system. smh. Hope it helps.

I see so you didn't receive a letter from US embassy Accra before your appointment right? Was it your first appointment? The interview/visa fee hasn't expired yet. I think it expires in about 6months. When was your case expiring date?..Yea it's Soo confusing uhuh. I pray you here from them with an appointment date.

Hmmmm, so does it mean you should get your medical report and police report even before getting the appointment letter?

Definitely so because my fiancee appointment date was next day after I received the notification. 26th and the appointment was 27th. So it's a must to do your medicals and police clearance ahead. Hope it helps. Stay blessed

Hi @SamwiseG,  thanks very much for sharing your experiences. Many GH couples are stuck waiting for this Packet 3 or email from the embassy that seems to never come. My concern is if we find ourselves in a situation like yours where the appointment is offered on such short notice. If you hadn’t scheduled that January appointment, would you have been able to get the medical done? I thought you needed to show them your appointment date at the medical center.

Thanks and congratulations.

Welcome and thank you. A very interesting question. Yea you need appointment date before medicals. So in case of same scenario like ours ( next day appointment) you need to go for the interview before the medicals. I think it will/should make sense to them since that will be the only option available. Hope it helps.

@Lojoy @Quaksaphya @Mamz any progress? We are still waiting for any contact from the embassy aka Packet 3 or any available interview dates so we could at least start the medical stuff.  I heard from another couple that the embassy has gone back to scheduling the appointments for the applicant instead of having the applicant do it online. Getting more confusing by the day!

Also so if you haven’t updated your timeline, please do so here - it will help us GH couples find each other and commiserate 😀. I wish patience and progress to all of us!

Went to the embassy on 14 March but they said they were not ready for us and they will call and send us a email for the next appointment. Have done my medicals and all but am still waiting for my appointment email. The waiting is hard

Hoping things are progressing well with everyone.  We have finally been able to schedule a date for interview in June.  We will see what happens with the Packet 3/embassy communication.

All the best!
