Shorter stay would affect getting a visa?

Hi everyone,

My family live in Thailand and wanted to come to see my baby with the tourist visa. ( I gave birth in Dec 2017)

I was wondering if I need to write an invitation letter for them? Also my sister doesn’t work right now but she needs to bring my mom and dad here however she’ve been to US as a student and never overstay. She also studied and traveled abroad a lot and never overstayed. (Europe & Asia) I was wonder if that would be an issue. If my parent plan on being here for 1mth.. Is it ok to leave earlier since my sister can only stay for 2 wks. Can we change the date of staying during an interview?

Thank you so much guys!!

1) It is good to have invitation letter.

2) It wouldn't be an issue since she's never overstay. However, she need to provide a great proof that she will be returning to Thailand after that trip. Since she is not working now, the officer might saw it as a red flag that she will be moving there.

3) Yes, you can change the duration of staying during the interview
