Hi everyone

I already know I should have asked more questions after my AOS interview but I think all the anxiety built up got the best of me.

I just had my AOS interview yesterday to adjust my status from an F1 Visa. The interview went well I think. There might have been some hiccups but the officer was understanding when we corrected ourselves. My case was pretty straight forward so we decided to do it ourselves. I was an F1 student, came to the US in 2010, met my husband in 2013, married in 2016. We filed our i130 and i485 and i765 mid 2017. i765 was initially rejected since I forgot to sign the form. We got a request for initial evidence on the i485. We resend the i765 and the documents requested for the i485. Never arrested and always on status. I have to admit that our proof of bonafide marriage was a bit lacking. We have never been the kind of people that take lots of pictures but we still had about 30 or so. We do have some accounts together, credit cards, etc but I could tell the officer hoped we had more.

The interview went as usual it seems. Sworn in, basic questions, questions about marriage, and the yes/no questions from the i485. Office left once to make some copies. The officer had my picture taken about 3 times and asked me to take my fingerprints 3 times as well. Supposedly their system was down and at the beginning she said she might have to make me come back just for that which seemed a bit scary. It made me think we would be called in for a 2nd interview. However, towards the end after she made some copies, she came back saying the system was back up and joked that it was great since she wouldn't have to have me come back and it was less work for her. Now that made it sound like everything was good and we would be approved.

At the end she asked us to step out to the waiting room and that she would call us back. This seemed a bit weird to be honest since I never read of this happening to anyone. After about 5 minutes she came out and right out there she just handed us a letter that says "Notice to Conditional Permanent Resident". She asked if we had questions and WEIRDLY mentioned that we would just have to wait for the card. I say weirdly because she phrased it in a way a bit hard to understand. I was a bit too excited and anxious so I just said I didn't have any questions. She never explicitly mentioned my application was approved, she just gave us that one letter and nothing else.

- Does this really mean that the application was approved or do I still have to wait for the final decision on the mail? I know I should have asked but I think I was too nervous.

- I noticed at the bottom of the letter she gave us it says the status is granted from Jan 4, 2018 to Jan 3, 2019. Shouldn't it be 2020? Since it's a conditional green card? Now I am worried this mistake could cause other problems

- She took a look at my passport but didn't stamp it or did anything to it. I've read other people have it stamped once it's approved.

Thanks everyone :)

Sorry just to add some more details.

Ever since I got the first RFE for my AOS, the online status of my case hasn't updated at all. The last update is for the RFE. I never got an update that they received the information requested on the RFE and  never got an update that they had sent a letter for the AOS interview.

Is this normal? I certainly have a feeling it won't update at all once the green card is sent out (if it was approved which it seems it was).
