We got married June 2016, my J1 visa was almost expired. After 2months, we got into a car accident and that slowed down our green card process for we had health and financial issues with the accident. That time, my mother-in-law decided to put my husband in her health insurance leaving me uninsured for 2017. My husband tried to put me in his insurance before his mom decided but the HR in his company was on a very long sick leave so his mom's got approved. When we applied for the Income Tax Return, yes we paid for the penalty. Now it is Nov. 2017.. Will I file my Adjustment of Status without health insurance? . I am 100% sure that I will have health insurance next year because I called for quotes and everything. I am worried that if I wait for the next calendar period for the health insurance that my I-693 Medical exam will expire. Help!

Health insurance is needed for J-1 visa status, but not for Adjustment of Status.
