Passport requested by consulate after 221g white slip, all docs submitted

Hello everyone, can you provide info about following please:

This is for H1-B first time applicant (myself, no H-4 dependent applied for) 

 

Interview date at US consulate: 25th Sep 2017, visa refused 221(g). CO said they need to do further admin processing and requested (white slip) that I send offer letter and CV. I submitted on same date. 

 

Email to submit passport from consulate received: 16 Sep 2017. Only passport was requested and travel itinerary. Submitted both same date as well via courier. 

 

On Ceac status website status is still "administrative processing" and both dates showing as 25th Sep 2017. I think that website is unreliable. 

 

Could purpose of passport request be visa declined? Or is it always approval? Would they request passport if visa is declined?

They asked for your passport because you are getting the visa. It is very unlikely that they will deny it once they asked for the passport. 

 

You always have to take CV to an H1B visa interview.

Hello Coco8, sorry I mistook the dates above: 

 

The email to submit passport was 16 OCT, not 16 SEP. I have checked the ceac status website now, and it has "case last updated" date for yesterday, which is the first time that this was updated (I've been checking it every two days).. 

 

The status is still "Administrative Processing". I wonder what that might mean? I thought once the send an email to submit passport the next status update should either be "Issued" or "Final Administrative Processing". Please help. Thanks

I'm also in the similar boat. Which consulate did u applied to? Also did you finally received your visa and after how long?
