Hi everyone! Just want to ask about Affidavit of Support for derivative of citizenship for adult.  I learned that it is required to have a AOS written under oath before 18 years old or else I will not be eligible for US Citizenship. We are all set to and prepared all the requirements aside from this one. We don't have AOS. And we are over aged. My question is, is there anyone from here have experienced this? Is there any legal options we could do? I hear that if a parent served the country by US Navy they will be they're priority.  I hope one of their priorities is giving us options about our AOS issue. Thank you.

Can you explain exactly what you are trying to do?

Who is the US citizen you are trying to get citizenship through? When were you born vs when did they get citizenship?

Bye: Penguin

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Okay. So my father was naturalized US citizen BEFORE my older sister was born (7 years citizen when she was born). My sister was born on sept 1986 and I was born on june 1988. The law says that those who were born on or after nov of 1986 are required to have a affidavit of support written under oath before I turned 18. So my sister is safe because she was born before nov 1986. I don't have affidavit of support. But my dad is determined to prove that I am his daughter. He supported us all through the years of our lives.  That's the only thing we don't have.
